It's been quite a while since I posted last. A blog is not a high priority when you are on a jet, or laid up in bed. However, I am back again and, of course, with an oil update.
Matt Simmons gave a presentation to the Australian American Chamber of Commerce on January 29. He describes the basis for the dramatic rise and fall in oil prices in 2008, followed by some crystal gazing into the future. It's all in plain English.
I don't know if President Obama has bothered to spend time with Matt. If not, then he needs to. It is hard to accept that our lives are undergoing dramatic change, but there it is. We can bury our heads in the sand and thus leave our fannies in the air, waiting to be shot off by the "torpedo of change" or we can actively manage the change. Right now, it appears that the ostrich position is the option of choice for too many.
