Shell is delaying its request for a mining permit in the shale deposits. Seems costs for developing/building a freeze wall to protect the water table have "significantly escalated". Look for completion in 2009 or 2010. I would expect that would push their final decision on economic viability out as well to a later date. You wanted that oil when?
Resource Investor has an interesting article about oil supply not keeping up with demand. OPEC is not exactly customer focused, as we like to say nowadays, perhaps they aren't able to meet the call? Tell me again when you wanted that oil? And what price was that?
Tom Whipple asks if anyone is listening in regards to Peak Oil and concludes they aren't, yet. Why should they with gas prices easing back? Happy Motoring!
Besides, there's 215 billion barrels of oil in Iraq. Who? Me worry about oil?
Perhaps I should since Business Week posted this article about Peak Oil. It's a guest writer of course, but BW did see fit to put it up. Wonder what the mainstream thinks of it.
