Rogers Park Bench pointed me to this blog titled Rogers Park Daily. It is, strictly speaking, a mouthpiece for the alderman.
Where to start - how about at the beginning -
The scathing commentary I have observed on several blogs is a gross exaggeration and unfair representation of Alderman Moore’s proven record as an independent progressive in the City Council.
So the claim of a voting record that sides with Da Mayor 95% of the time is either in error, or Da Mayor is Himself an independent progressive. Which is it?
Mayor Daley proposed a series of tax increases for the budget with a view to off-setting the City’s personnel costs. Grudgingly the City Council passed the measure in a 47-3 vote (Only Dorothy Tillman, Toni Preckwinkle and Arenda Troutman voted No). One of the provisions was an increase in the tax on natural gas. Though an increase in the cost of heating oil may impact some of the more vulnerable in the 49th Ward, it is not a widespread phenomena to observe heating bills in the range of $500 to heat a home. Those who do find themselves in such a situation have various means of recourse through programs that Alderman Moore has staunchly supported.
But of course this alderman is an independent progressive. So why did he vote for something that would harm his constituents? What is he doing to help those who are in need of assistance in paying their heating bills?
Alderman Moore has a staff member permanently assigned to work on residential landlord-tenant issues. This staff member works very closely with landlords and tenants to resolve outstanding lease issues and to correct outstanding City Building Code violations.
Would that be Kevin Cosgrove, who I understand to be the Chief of staff? Just what is his title? Chief Housing Court Advocate from the Alderman's Office? Just trying to put some context around this since, if he is the Chief of Staff, he must have a lot of time on his hands if he is spending it in Housing Court.
BTW, did I mention that most of that stuff looks plagiarized directly from here?
But by far the most revealing entry is the first one, which proceeds to denigrate several well known bloggers in what I would describe as a personal, ad hominem attack. I must say I wonder how the 2 Toms would feel finding themselves lumped in with Craig, especially since Westgard is pro-Moore (methinks the blogger owes Tom W an apology). Toni has shown a definite propensity for the facts, so I don't know why she is listed. As for Laura, it sounds like she is being tarred for just showing up and cheering.
So how to answer this query from our mystery blogger?
why would anyone ever vote for someone like Don Gordon?
Let me point our mystery blogger to here, here, here, and of course here.
All of the foregoing probably puts me in the camp of those poor, benighted souls with too much time on their hands. Beats being snookered by a con man. Dave Fagus hasn't seen fit to argue the lawbreaking by his candidate, which suggests that the allegations may be more than smoke. Perhaps our mystery blogger will explain it to us and show us how we are ever so wrong about JoMo.
I'll lean back in the easy chair and sip my tea. It will be a long wait.

Notice our mystery blogger also has time on her/his hands, or does he/she get paid to write anonymous drivel?
Notice the mystery blog accepts comments only by "team members".
Does Mystery Blogger get paid? Hmmmm. Maybe Hugh can search the D-2s for the answer to that one.
The commenting limits made me laugh. Moderation to keep the drive-by flamethrowing trolls in check is one thing. This goes to another dimension. Very Brave New World-ish. Repeat after me; "I am an Alpha, I am better than the rest......" Only the like-minded need to comment.
Exactly! And the thing is, they are way too late in the game as far as blogging goes. And they have very little creativity too. Their blogs are pretty boring really.
The drum is beating. It is time for a change.
