The Guardian posted an article about the new colonization of Africa, 21st century-style. My friends at Transition point out that a long food supply chain is unsustainable. Apparently that lesson has yet to be learned in other parts of the world. The impact on local people and the land is even more devastating than what we experience here.
Is there really a good reason to import out of season products, other than we can?
