What Would Sarah Do?

Until today I didn't know about, much less read anything by, Sam Harris. Here is his take on Palin's candidacy and I must say that I agree with much that he says about her lack of insight and knowledge regarding the issues of the day.

I've never understood why someone would want to vote for someone because they could "relate" to them. Sorry, but I want my president to be a hell of a lot more intelligent than I am (although I'd have to say I'm pretty intelligent to begin with, but still). I remember not too long ago another candidate that many people felt they could "relate" to- and look how well that’s worked out for the U.S. over the last eight years.

Something I didn't post about is her alleged continuing association with the Assemblies of God, whose church she attended in Wasilla for a long time. People who are concerned about Christian Dominionists are very worried that she sees herself as somehow divinely directed or supported in this candidacy. They point to comments she made and the fact that the Assemblies are calling her a new Deborah. Remember how the shrub saw himself as following the word of God in his choices? If the allegations prove true the cries of "McSame" regarding McCain could prove quite prophetic.
