Toni asks some very pointed questions of The Powers That Be (TPTB) regarding the proposal to turn the site of the North Shore School into a parking lot. With all the moaning about gentrification (and Bastille Day at Taste surely was a reminder that it is occurring) one would think an effort would be made to focus on housing for those who can't afford market rates.
On top of that, Tom Mannis reports on an effort to lease Park District property for a parking lot. Why is the Park District even contemplating such a request? And where is our alderman, the Great Protector of the Lakefront?
Are these really the best use of the properties? Why are we trying to attract more of the auto-endowed to RP?
