I must be the only one who has noticed, or the only one who is talking about it. I was at Gruppo di Amici over the weekend and saw signs in the window at Taste advertising a Bastille Day event on Saturday, July 14, from 5-9:00 PM, including live gypsy music starting at 7. Cost is $20.00. Call 773-761-3663.
What is really interesting to me is that this is being done in partnership with DevCorp North. A portion of the proceeds will go to DevCorp to fund special programs (bilingual ed I think - don't hold me to that). A check at DevCorp's site came up empty. Don't know why they aren't chatting it up.
Taste is not officially open yet - at least it doesn't appear to be - but I think it's going to be soon. I peaked in the window and the place is really shaping up and looking good. Saturday should be fun and I am looking forward to it finally being open. I have a wine rack to fill!

Taste sent push email to their mailing list and some little elves sent reminders to their own personal email lists.
This should be a fun event and agree that Taste is a venture worth coming out to support.
The Taste retail space isn't open yet. However, they can host special events where the proceeds benefit a non-profit entity. I would imagine that explains the Devcorp connection.
Interestingly, on the invitation Devcorp's mission is described as providing computer education to low income residents, full stop. If only...
I found the Taste website today and will sign up for the mailing list. I wish they had done more marketing. I do still wonder what held DevCorp back since they are the beneficiary.
Uh...disorganization, laziness and incompetance? Or is that being too harsh?
After all, according to some 100K is a pretty standard, perhaps even mediocre compensation for run of the mill management positions at microscopic 501c3 organizations...
Nothing stops us from passing the word however ;-)
