Judging and Judged Part Deux

In the original post I said the other players might speak up if Tom got the story wrong. Craig has, check the comments.

Per Craig, Tom left out a significant part of the story. So unless Tom is going to call Craig out, I will assume he is stooping to JoMo's level to help his candidate win. He doesn't have to like Don, but he ought to share the whole story and not just the parts he prefers.

ETA 4/14/07: Westgard has responded if anyone cares to take a peek.

Here's my partial take on what Tom has to say:

It's fascinating to me that neither Craig nor Don will address these incidents on the record.

If you are referring to the blog post, then Craig has. What other record did you have in mind?

I guess none of them, Craig, Jocelyn, or Don, wants to address this issue, but I'd say their silence speaks volumes about Don's willingness to tolerate racist violence committed by middle-class white men against black children.

Your basis for claiming racism is a "racially tinged remark". Andy reacted to what he perceived as an action directed at him (or perhaps the group) because of race. Have you considered that Don was as shocked as you were? You assume that Don has not addressed the issue with McGhee post-incident, or doesn't care because McGhee is still present. Both are unfair assumptions, unless you want to paint a candidate in a negative light.

What exactly in Craig's comment makes you think Craig responded in any way to my point? I think he sidetracked you, and a little too easily - like maybe you weren't really looking.

Pay attention Tom - this is what I said about it:

Per Craig, Tom left out a significant part of the story..........He doesn't have to like Don, but he ought to share the whole story and not just the parts he prefers.

You used Craig as a witness to your version of events. Craig offers a different perspective, which leads me to believe there may be more to it than even you know. You know only what you witnessed, and you still left out pertinent information. You don't know what Don may have said to McGhee afterwards, but it sure serves your purpose of making Don into a racist, as your follow-on post about the flyer certainly showed.

I added some comments there too. Craig, in typically egocentric fashion, added comments about his own behavior. But what does that say about Don Gordon? Absolutely nothing. How does it undermine my point? Not at all.
