Mommy!!!! The Tribune is picking on me!!

Waaa! Waaa! Waaa!

So Dave Fagus has an issue with the Trib editorial that, rightfully, skewered JoMo?! This is not a newsflash but come on Dave!!! Grow UP!!!

By all means let's turn this into a personal attack...oh, your pardon, I meant election rhetoric:

Of note is the fact that of the three Daley was able to switch over to uphold his veto, two are H.D.O. owned and operated Aldermen and the third is increasingly looking like she has some serious moral and ethics issues.

Got anything besides innuendo to back that up?

Dave is not about to let the facts, or constituent preference, drive his perspective:

But even if you feel that the two Moore ordinances are insignificant, misguided, and/or inappropriate for a local city council to consider,

Du-uh!!! Helloooooooooo Dave!!! Those of us who live here feel exactly that way. Except for you of course.

But in the end, we all know how grossly unfair the Trib (and the Sun-Times) is being:

I can tell you that Joe Moore has initiated two press conferences on the issue during the entire life of this issue, once for the initial vote and once when it became clear that it was going to be considered for repeal by Ald. Natarus and Ald. Stone. What is fascinating is the number of times the paper who finds this issue so incredibly inappropriate has done a story related to this issue. The number of time the Chicago Tribune has written something about Foie Gras during this same period of less than a month is 33. It was reported on WBEZ’s 848 program that on the day the ban went into effect that the Chicago Tribune covered the story that day with 6 reporters. That sounds like a major news story, not something insignificant. I think it is clear that the Tribune is using this issue and “big box” to drive its own agenda forward.

The big news here is that we have an Alderman whose political ambitions exceed his grasp. The newspapers figured that out so of course they are covering it. He'd rather protect ducks and keep jobs out of the city, than protect RP citizens from slumlords or pursue real economic development for his ward. I don't know that The Big Box stores are the answer, but what does JoMo have to offer as an alternative? Dave? You're his sock puppet. Come on. Tell us what JoMo is doing to bring real jobs and opportunity to RP, aside from a DevCorp North marketing meeting.

And then Dave wraps it all up for us with a nice, pretty bow:

There are some problems that need to be addressed in the ward. Many issues have already been addressed and resolved, but even when those few items mentioned in the editorial are resolved, there will be others to replace them.

Uh, yeah that would be true. So Dave, you want to explain why the ducks mattered more than RP citizens, or how banning The Big Box stores was going to result in jobs with real living wages in the 49th? Or can we safely assume that his actions were strictly for his own political gain?

Hell, let's be honest and show our cards here. JoMo can paint himself as a progressive liberal in a town of Luddites. Of course the problems in RP have to stay covered up. If he uses the Gale Fieldhouse as an example of his efforts on behalf of RP, I have a bushel of fig leaves I'd like to sell to him. He'll need 'em.

Come on Dave, you have so much to say, and the election is only 6 months away. Start campaigning dude. I can't wait to find out what election rhetoric you are going to spout about all this.
